Blackplume – The Castle in The Pyrenees
Lena – Purge
Robin – Troll: A Love Story
Congratulations and thank you for playing!
Earlier in February of this year, Judith from Leeswammes hosted the very successful Literary Giveaway Blog Hop. When she asked whether there would be sufficient interest in hosting a second round this very same year, I (along with many more participants) agreed to join.
Which books can I win?
You can choose from the three books below. They are all gently read, and as good as new. I hope that the winners will enjoy them as much as I did!
1) The Castle in The Pyrenees – Jostein Gaarder (my review here)

Solrun and Steinn, two fifty-something former lovers, run into each other some thirty years after a fateful event has driven them apart. It is by coincidence that their encounter takes place at the hotel where they took their refuge so many years ago, the safe haven where they eventually parted ways. Or is it? The reader is drawn into a secret e-mail correspondence, in which they confide in each other, but only on the condition that every e-mail sent and received will be deleted. No proof should remain. But proof of what? Their e-mails hint at something terrible that has happened, a thing they swore never to talk about ever again, an experience that shook the foundations of their beliefs so badly which made it impossible to remain together thereafter.
Both Steinn and Solrun did manage to pick up their individual lives again. Yet, despite their new partners, careers and children, they have never completely forgotten the other. Subsequently, the moment the two meet again, a strong mutual urge to reconnect arises.
The e-mails are quite philosophical, and through them the atheistic climatologist and the Christian teacher passionately argue their respective views on life, but instead of stubbornly holding on to their own point of view, they tentatively reach out to each other. How long can they keep this up without meeting again? And what is this event that wrecked their romance?
2) Troll: A Love Story – Johanna Sinisalo (my review here)

One evening Mikael, a photographer with angelic features, finds a troll changeling by accident. In a reflex, he brings the weak feline-featured cub into his home. What ensues from this impulsive act is a growing whirlwind of events that drag the helpless Mikael, his (ex-)lovers and neighbor towards a sinister crescendo… Can Goldwing and Troll stay together after all?
3) Purge – Sofi Oksanen (my review here)

Old Aliide Truu lives out her twilight years in the isolated countryside of Estonia. Then, one day young Zara suddenly shows up and everything she worked so hard for is in danger of falling apart. Who is this strange girl? Who or what is she fleeing from? What is the connection between the two women? And what secrets are they desperately trying to hide?
